My child already has a guidance counselor at school. Why have an independent educational consultant?

Many guidance counselors are excellent at what they do, but they often carry a caseload of several hundred students at a time. Guidance counselors are trained in the dynamics of counseling, but they are not experts on the offerings of schools, nor are they trained on these schools’ admission criteria or their admissions process.
