The best school is the one that brings out the best in your child.

It Started with One Question: “Can You Help My Child, Too?”

School Match 4U was founded in 2010 by Mark Stucker—an admissions expert with over 25 years of experience in private day schools, boarding schools, charter schools, and college counseling.

When Mark worked in college counseling at one of the nation’s largest charter school networks, families kept reaching out—not just about their students, but about siblings, cousins, and friends. They weren’t just looking for a school. They were looking for someone who could help them figure out the right school. His work with students from KIPP Metro Atlanta inspired parents to seek his guidance beyond the classroom. This is how School Match 4U was founded.

Vision

I – Individualization – We tailor every plan to the student, recognizing that success is not one-size-fits-all. That means finding a college that’s the right match across academics, social life, culture, and finances.

G – Guidance That is Positive – We navigate the admissions journey with expertise and compassion, lighting the way forward. Our guidance always leads toward the best-fit match, not just prestige or rankings.

N – Noteworthy Fit
The right college isn’t just a name—it’s a place where a student feels seen, supported, and inspired. We help uncover environments where they can grow, belong, and truly thrive.

T – Tailored Support – Our guidance is never cookie-cutter; it’s specific to each student’s needs. We tailor every step toward helping students discover schools where they will truly thrive — their best match.

E – Empowerment – We give students and families the tools to make confident, informed decisions. That confidence comes from knowing they’ve chosen a school that matches their needs, values, and aspirations.

Two people sharing a book.

At School Match 4U, we don’t just prepare applications—we build pathways to opportunity, matching students with schools that unlock their full potential.

With over 25 years in private day schools, boarding schools, and college admissions, Mark turned his deep network and behind-the-scenes knowledge into something families couldn’t find anywhere else: clear, personalized guidance through one of the biggest decisions they’ll ever make.

Our goal is “to ignite your child’s future” by allowing them to thrive and reach their limitless potential.
We don’t see our work as being done, just because your student has selected their college. We want to be a resource, a sounding board, a mentor into their adult life.

If we can help your student with networking and helping them in their careers, we want to do this. This is a passion and a calling to our team and not just a job: this is ministry!

Having served as a school social worker and an assistant principal in the Milwaukee area, she holds a Master’s in Administrative Leadership and a Master’s in Social Work, both from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. She has worked with thousands of students and families, giving her a deep understanding of how students think, what they need, and how to meet them where they are. Her style is warm, organized, and family-inclusive. She is known for keeping students on track, holding them to timelines, and making the process feel manageable rather than overwhelming.

Jennifer works with Mark Stucker, Jay Coffey, and Margarita Martinez. The four of them are the core of the application review team, and they take a team-based approach to counseling, sharing and collaborating on how best to support all School Match 4U clients. Over several years of college counseling, Jennifer has guided students through the full arc of the process, from building the right college list to submitting applications they are truly proud of. She welcomes students at any stage of their academic journey, meeting each one exactly where they are in the process.

As a mom of three sons with business degrees from different colleges, Jennifer brings firsthand knowledge of the higher education business landscape and what that path truly looks like for families.

Jennifer stays actively connected to school communities through her work with PTOs and local youth organizations, and there is nowhere she feels more at home than working alongside students and families through this process.

Her family’s tradition of hosting exchange students and embracing study abroad has also shaped her appreciation for diverse perspectives and the many ways education can unfold.

At the heart of Jennifer’s work is a simple belief: that the college search should be a journey of self-discovery. She wants every student to see their own potential, push themselves into new and exciting directions, and find a school where they can truly thrive, academically, personally, and beyond.

Margarita Martinez is a full-time freelance editor with many years of experience and has worked with School Match 4U clients since 2016. Previously, she taught English literature and freelanced part-time for fifteen years. She works directly with authors on developmental editing, copy edits, and proofreads. Her goal is to work in partnership with authors, guiding them through the writing process as necessary, until they’re fully satisfied that a manuscript is ready to submit for publication.

Our School Match 4U coaches read student essays for the message and recommend content edits. Margarita suggests grammar, syntax, punctuation, and spelling edits. She produces clean copies of essays ready for submission, along with versions showing the edits. She’s an invaluable member of the SM4U team.

Joy is a Wellness Coach and Educator from the Kenan-Flagler Business School at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Georgia and her Master of Education, with a concentration in Clinical Counseling, from North Carolina State University. Upon completing her M.Ed., Joy obtained her license as a Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate (LCMHCA) in the state of North Carolina.

In her role at UNC, Joy supports undergraduate business students in areas such as time management, stress management, emotional regulation, imposter syndrome, identity development, and a wide range of topics related to overall wellbeing. She utilizes a solution-focused, goal-oriented, and person-centered framework in her one-on-one coaching sessions, drawing from evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and existential theory.

Joy is deeply passionate about student wellness and healthy living. She recognizes that “healthy” looks different for each individual and values meeting students wherever they are in their personal journey. Joy is equally committed to education and understands how mental health concerns and unhealthy habits or lifestyles can create barriers to achieving academic and/or personal goals.

In her role as a Wellness Specialist, Joy can support students with stress, relationship challenges, depression, anxiety, perfectionism, transitions to new environments, or simply ensuring they are functioning at their peak performance in academics, athletics, or other commitments. These sessions are optional and available to students and families who are interested. A limited number of wellness counseling sessions are included at no charge in the Silver, Gold-12, Gold-21, and Platinum plans.

Karis is a passionate Spanish Tutor and owner of the private Spanish tutoring company, Spanish Help Today. Karis has helped numerous learners with their various needs in the language. At Spanish Help Today Karis works with students who want to learn the language from scratch, those who need help alongside their school curriculum, and those preparing for specific exams (i.e-AP exam, Language Level exam for university).

Students have raved about Karis’ ability to meet their needs as well as improve their scores.

“I typically like to see what a student is working on in school or what their biggest need is. I review the topic they need help with and either use practice from their book or examples that I come up with from my own material. Depending on the level of student, and what they are looking for, I sometimes like to spend time speaking with the student. Immersion is the best teacher! I majored in Spanish in college, but I truly became fluent during my travels to Peru, Bolivia, Chile, Honduras, and Puerto Rico which all together equal about one year living abroad.”

All students who sign up for a Silver or Gold plan with School Match 4U automatically get two complimentary hours of tutoring with Karis. She is the preferred tutor for our clients based on the exceptional feedback we have received from the dozens of students she has worked with.
